The reason for this blog.

Benoit Cloutier is my nephew by love. He is 16 years old and lives in Loxahatchee, FL. He moved to the USA a couple of years ago from Canada. Last week Ben was rough-housing with a friend at school. He fell, sustained a serious head injury, and was evacuated by helicopter to the local hospital. Ben remains in the Intensive Care Unit on a ventilator and is currently fighting pneumonia. He had a CT scan which revealed that the haematoma he sustained is now gone. He is currently heavily sedated, on paralytic drugs, and at this time only immediate family is permitted to visit with him at the hospital. Over the next several weeks, the level of brain injury sustained will reveal itself.

Gaetan, Ben's father, resides in Canada, and Ben lives with his mother Betty, step-father George and two toddler-aged brothers.  In addition to prayers, this site will serve as a hands-on way to help Ben's family make it though this difficult time, and to ease the financial burden this tragedy will place on them. Money raised will go towards Ben's medical expenses primarily, and then to any expenses the family has to look after Ben in the long term.
